Photochromic lenses are designed to automatically adjust their tint based on the level of exposure to UV light. When exposed to sunlight or UV rays, the lenses darken , providing protection equivalent to sunglasses . Indoors or in low light conditions, they quickly return to a bright state equivalent to that of a non-photochromic lens .
