Corneal topography is an examination performed to analyze the relief and curvature of the cornea across its entire surface, that is, from the center to its periphery.

It allows us to create a kind of "three-dimensional map" or "mapping" of the entire surface of the cornea, showing any irregularities in its relief and curvature.

Since the cornea is typically responsible for about 70% of the eye's refractive power, its topography is extremely important in the evaluation and diagnosis of various eye diseases or in pre- and post-operative assessments.

It is quite important in cases of high and irregular astigmatism and is a complementary examination in contact lens fitting .

Corneal topography is a painless examination that takes approximately 5 minutes to perform and requires no prior preparation.
